About InspirEd

InspirEd was born in 2008. The company was started by Dawn Feather, a Video Editor who loves teaching her craft to children.

Dawn started teaching when she was 17, volunteering for a summer film club while she was a student.  At 22 she went self employed as a Video Editor.  It was The Princes’ Trust that made it possible as they gave her a loan and a Business Mentor.  Their support helped Dawn develop skills in business and video editing.

Starting up as a freelance editor was quite tough so Dawn subsidised her income by teaching film.  It proved a successful combination and the natural next step was to start InspirEd.Lead Artist Dawn with her minime plasticine character

“After 17 years of teaching I still find pleasure in creating interesting workshops for both children and adults” Dawn Feather – InspirEd Lead Artist & MD

InspirEd Workshops runs the animation programme at The National Media Museum in Bradford.  If you’re a school and are planning a visit, please consider doing an animation workshop with Dawn.

Another great InspirEd partnership is our relationship with Bic Kids.  Dawn writes the lesson plans for the Bic Kids website.  Have a look in Teachers Corner for some free KS2 lesson ideas.
