About InspirEd

InspirEd was born in 2008. The company was started by Dawn Feather, a Video Editor who loves teaching her craft to children.

Dawn started teaching when she was 17, volunteering for a summer film club while she was a student.  At 22 she went self employed as a Video Editor.  It was The Princes’ Trust that made it possible as they gave her a loan and a Business Mentor.  Their support helped Dawn develop skills in business and video editing.

Starting up as a freelance editor was quite tough so Dawn subsidised her income by teaching film and animation.  It proved a successful combination and the natural next step was to start InspirEd.Lead Artist Dawn with her minime plasticine character

“After 18 years of teaching I still find pleasure in creating interesting workshops for both children and adults” Dawn Feather – InspirEd Lead Artist

Dawn runs the animation programme at The Science & Media Museum in Bradford.  If you’re planning to visit with your school please consider doing an animation workshop with us.

Another great InspirEd partnership is our relationship with Bic Kids.  Dawn contributes to the lesson plans on the Bic Kids website.  Have a look in Teachers Corner for some free KS2 lesson ideas.

InspirEd Workshops are a ‘Fantastic For Families’ organisation and we are proud to support the Family Arts Standards with the Family and Childcare Trust.
